“Our Enemy, the State” was a minor classic by Albert Jay Nock that young conservatives consumed in the Goldwater days of long ago.

In the 1970s, however, “conservatives” tasted power under Nixon. In 1980, they captured the White House. Today they control the government. But along that long road to power, many shed principles and convictions as they came to relish the wielding of power for its own sake no less than the liberals of the New Deal and Great Society.

Many now in power are in reality conservative impersonators, the sort of people the conservative movement was first mounted to run out of town. Indeed, under George W. Bush, the party of Goldwater and Reagan has become a second party of government. Social spending has soared as rapidly as it did in the salad days of LBJ.

Last week, the title of Nock’s classic came again to mind. For “Our Enemy, the State” is an exact description of a regime that seeks to convert into law a Senate amnesty for millions of illegal aliens, while authorizing transnational companies to go abroad to bring hundreds of thousands of foreign workers here every year to displace Americans.

Three-in-five Republican senators voted “no” to amnesty. It sped to passage, however, with the backing of George W. Bush, John McCain, Bill Frist and nine of every 10 Senate Democrats.

That proposed amnesty, and the bipartisan support it won, is a textbook example of an establishment against the people, and a state at war with the nation. For that bill would alter the face, fate and future of America against the expressed will of the nation.

Rapper on trial for taking a liberté

If this monkey hates France so much, why won’t he move to his native Congo? The same could be said of the millions of other African savages who riot, gang-rape, steal, assault, murder, and burn cars on a daily basis in today’s multiracial France…all because of French — wait for it, wait for it! — rAYcism and discrimination… I’d feel sorry for the French, if I didn’t know just how weak and spineless and traitorous their democratic politicians are — people they keep electing and reelecting. It is said that the French government refused to call on the “French” armed forces (now in name only) to intervene during the recent riots, because of the high percentage of Muslim immigrants (mostly Arab, North African, and African) in the military…apparently, it couldn’t be certain of their allegiance. France is only a few short years away from a full-blown civil war. And Germany is next.

A case involving alleged obscene material is being seen as a test of free speech

A VIDEO of naked women writhing against the French flag was played to judges yesterday at the trial of a rap star accused of disseminating obscene material to minors.

Richard Makela, 30, a Zairean-born rapper who performs as Monsieur R, has been brought to trial in a private prosecution by a conservative MP from the Pyrenees who says that lyrics and images from the internet video insult France.

Daniel Mach, an MP for President Chirac’s Union for a Popular Movement, is outraged over FranSSe, a song from Monsieur R’s 2005 album Politikment Incorrekt, in which he vows to urinate on Napoleon Bonaparte and General de Gaulle and says: “France is a bitch/ Don’t forget to fuck her/ To the point of exhaustion/ Like a slut/ She should be insulted.”

The case at Melun, in the southern Paris suburbs, is the latest in a dozen legal actions over the past decade against French rappers for lyrics deemed to insult national institutions. Most have failed.

Dominique Tricaud, the lawyer representing Monsieur R, said that he was certain his client would be acquitted in the name of freedom of speech, the grounds that have been used to exonerate performers in previous cases. [Right, French magistrates prefer to fine and imprison scholars who dare to present a dissenting version of history here.]

Monsieur R could face three years in prison or a €74,000 (£51,000) fine. But convictions in previous cases have produced suspended sentences and lesser fines.

The video for “FranSSe” also enraged his critics — France was represented by two nude women rubbing themselves with the French flag; France was compared to the 3rd Reich; and French leaders were accused of neo-colonialism. The video included excerpts from a Jacques Chirac speech from the 1995 election and of his meeting with Zaïre’s former dictator, Mobutu Sese Seko.

The district where Monsieur R grew up, Seine-Saint-Denis, was at the centre of rioting that saw 3,000 arrests and 9,000 burnt cars. By November 25, 200 French MPs (not including Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin) had laid the blame on seven rap groups, including Monsieur R. They have called for these groups to be prosecuted. Monsiuer R’s opinion on the subject: “Hip hop is a crude art, so we use crude words. It is not a call to violence”

The Abysmal State of American Education

Don’t blame Kirsten Dunst for not knowing more about French history: it’s the U.S. school system’s fault. The actress stars as Marie Antoinette in Sophia Coppola’s film about the Vienna-born French monarch — which has been panned by critics. The flick was booed at Cannes, and a reviewer for the London Times noted that her voice was “more Valleyspeak than Viennese.”

Dunst was asked by reporters how much she knew about French history before she made the film. “If you grow up in France, you learn about French history, and if you grow up in America the French history is a smaller paragraph in your textbook,” she told reporters. “So I didn’t know an enormous amount about Marie Antoinette except for the fact that she didn’t say ‘Let them eat cake’ and was beheaded. That was pretty much what I’d learned in school.”[Frankly, I’m shocked that she even knows that much!]

Did she learn her history from comic books? But why should the above classic example of crass ignorance on the part of Americans of basic European history be of any surprise? We’re talking, after all, about a people who don’t know that there’s an entire world out there beyond the U.S. borders and who couldn’t place Europe on a map, never mind a European nation. The Americans’ utter ignorance of their own continent is something to behold as well. Typically, they think that Canadians reside in igloos and that Canada’s economy is still largely based on fur-trading.

Black extremists threaten Jews in Paris

PARIS (EJP) — French police opened an investigation Monday after suspected members of a black extremist group marched through a Jewish quarter in central Paris shouting anti-Semitic slogans at the weekend.

Shoppers in the historic Marais neighbourhood, one of the busiest districts in the Jewish area of Paris, were left in shock early Sunday evening after a group of black extremists terrorised community members with anti-Semitic verbal abuse.

More than 20 men claiming to be members of the Tribu-Ka anti-white group walked up and down the crowded Rue des Rosiers shouting at the families and youths in the area. Jewish groups want the extremist group to be banned.

The French Office of Vigilance against anti-Semitism (BNCVA) said in a statement the gang was “performing Nazi salutes, looking for a fight with the neighbourhood’s Jews, threatening and intimidating them”.

OSWIECIM, Poland (Reuters) - Calling himself “a son of Germany,” Pope Benedict prayed at the former Nazi death camp of Auschwitz on Sunday and asked why God was silent when 1.5 million victims, mostly Jews, died in this “valley of darkness.”

Ending a four-day pilgrimage to Poland, Benedict, 79, said humans could not fathom “this endless slaughter” but only seek reconciliation for those who suffered then and those who now “are suffering in new ways from the power of hatred.”

Benedict said it was almost impossible, particularly for a German Pope, to speak at such a horrible place.

“The place where we are standing is a place of memory and at the same time, it is the place of the Shoah,” he said.

“In a place like this, words fail. In the end, there can only be a dread silence, a silence which is a heartfelt cry to God — Why, Lord, did you remain silent? How could you tolerate all this?”

They had previously adopted—adoption now being routinely allowed for unmarried couples and single persons—a boy from Cambodia and a girl from Ethiopia, and now Jolie has given birth to a child she conceived with Pitt in their unceasingly publicized and celebrated affair, which destroyed Pitt’s marriage with Jennifer Aniston. So this unmarried couple now have a “family” consisting of three totally unrelated children representing each of the major races of mankind: an African black child (though actually Ethiopians are of a distinct race from the main Negro race), a Southeast Asian child, and a white child. We thus have the self-indulgent and socially approved destruction of marriage, and of the normal human kinship ties and normal societies that organically proceed from marriage, combined with the artificial construction of a new society consisting of the color-coordinated diversity of the whole human race. To top it off, the baby was born in Namibia, Africa, where Jolie is serving as good will ambassador for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.

Germans should stop feeling Holocaust guilt: Ahmadinejad

It should be the solemn duty of all true Germans (how many of today’s indoctrinated, Judaised, Americanized, hedonistic, decadent, race-mixing Germans qualify for that adjective?) to support this courageous leader.

Asked by Der Spiegel, in its cover story entitled “The man the world is afraid of”, whether he stood by his earlier view the Holocaust was a myth, Ahmadinejad said: “I only accept something as the truth if I am truly convinced of it.

“In Europe there are two opinions on it. One group of researchers who are by and large politically motivated say the Holocaust happened. There is another group of researchers who have the opposite view and are by and large in prison for that.”

Betty McCollum (D-Minn.) didn’t quite realize what she was getting into when she voted against the Palestinian Anti-Terrorism Act of 2006, so-called, which would cut off all aid to the Palestinians, impose economic sanctions, and make it impossible for any entity, public or private, to operate in Palestine. Or maybe she’s just brave.

A liberal Democrat, Rep.McCollum had always been a strong supporter of Israel, but on the issue of how to deal with the democratically elected Hamas government of the Palestinian Authority, she had real differences with what Stephen Walt and John J. Mearsheimer call “the Lobby,” in their pathbreaking and provocative study of Congress”The Israel Lobby”, published by Harvard University. In that work, the two professors have this to say about the power of the Lobby over the U.S:

“The bottom line is that AIPAC, a de facto agent for a foreign government, has a stranglehold on Congress, with the result that U.S. policy towards Israel is not debated there, even though that policy has important consequences for the entire world. In other words, one of the three main branches of the government is firmly committed to supporting Israel. As one former Democratic senator, Ernest Hollings, noted on leaving office, ‘you can’t have an Israeli policy other than what AIPAC gives you around here.’”
