Les Bienveillantes

An American Jew writes a 900-page novel in French about — wait for it! — the holocau$t! (You guessed it!) The book’s originality is supposed to reside in the fact that it’s written from the perspective of a highly cultured S.S. officer who decides to write his diary or memoirs after the war. Our officer is cool, suave, and wholly unrepentant as he details the National Socialist war on Jewry on the Eastern Front. An English translation is scheduled to come out next year. 1. I think that I will read this book, out of sheer curiosity.

  2. There is a new book out about the economy of the Third Reich. I posted a link in the News Roundup thread to it. I may check it out. I’m not reading anything at the moment.

  4. Well at least this book is consistent with the rest of the Jews’ extensive body of writing on the tiresome subject of the Holohoax, viz., a work of fiction.
