    Notice how the video points to the lions’ role as food provider for hyenas and vultures, presumably also African wild dogs, foxes if those exist there, and other carrion-utilizing species, such that if lions were to disappear, some of these other species would be hard hit and might disappear too. The conservationists and “greens,” of course (those of them who aren’t total wackjob tree-roosting extremists), are completely right about food chains and interdependence: disturb things someplace and repercussions will come back from an unexpected direction and bite you in the ass.
