Jews in Russia

This story reminded me of something that I omitted to say in my review of Solzhenitsyn’s volumes on the history of Russian Jewry. Jewish terror cells in the Russian Empire normally used Slavic assassins to accomplish their murders of high-ranking Russian officials. Why? Jews in Russia were afraid of the anti-Semitic backlash that such murders would produce if the actual hitmen (or hitwomen) were Jews. With Jews nothing is ever what it seems…
