First Rate Talks Mark Successful IHR Meeting

First-rate talks by three seasoned speakers made the IHR meeting in southern California on Saturday, May 24, a spirited and memorable event. Paul Fromm reported with insight, verve and good humor on the uphill battle for on-line free speech in Canada. Mark Weber, in a closely reasoned and well-referenced lecture, dismantled the myth of World War II as a “good war” clash between virtue and evil. Mark Green skillfully discredited the double standard that prevails in US media coverage of the Israel-Palestine conflict, and explained why the dread label of “anti-Semitism” is inaccurate and bogus. A full report on the meeting will be posted soon.

David Irving and Mark Weber will address an IHR meeting on Saturday evening, June 14, in Orange County, southern California. Irving will provide dramatic details and first-person insights on his headline-making Nov. 2005 arrest in Austria, his sensational trial, and his 13-month imprisonment for the “crime” of expressing dissident views about World War II history. He will also take aim at World War II mythology, providing new insights based on original archival research on major players and key events of that global conflict. Weber will speak on myths about the origins and outbreak of World War II. For details, phone 949 - 631 1490.

Insider Reveals Pro-Zionist Bias of Amnesty International
Francis Boyle — CovertAction Quarterly

… I got very actively involved in 1982. At that time I was leading the legal charge against the Israeli invasion of Lebanon, and I tried very hard to get Amnesty International USA to do something … And AI-USA refused to do anything at all because of the pro-Israel bias that concerns that organization … I was elected to the board of directors in 1988. I spent four years on the Amnesty board for two terms … In addition, you have here in the United States the very powerful role played by the Israel lobby on AI-USA. They are very powerful; they apply enormous pressure … AI-USA pretty much kowtows to them …

Democracy in America
Bill Moyers
http://www.commondr eams.org/ archive/2008/ 05/17/9016/

Democracy in America is a series of narrow escapes, and we may be running out of luck. The reigning presumption about the American experience, as the historian Lawrence Goodwyn has written, is grounded in the idea of progress, the conviction that the present is “better” than the past and the future will bring even more improvement. For all of its shortcomings, we keep telling ourselves, “The system works.” Now all bets are off. We have fallen under the spell of money, faction, and fear … A sense of political impotence pervades the country …

Why All of Our Efforts Won’t Stop an Attack on Iran
Gary Leupp
http://www.counterp unch.org/ leupp05122008. html

… The Congress, the Justice Department, academia, and the press are all complicit in imperialist war and attacks on the Constitution. Does this mean the system isn’t working, or that it’s working all too well? … Voting for “antiwar” Democrats two years ago didn’t end the war. Even millions in the streets, peacefully demonstrating as the system encourages, didn’t prevent the assault on Iraq over five years ago. Now there’s no feasible political recourse to stop an attack on Iran … Exposure alone, no matter how voluminous, eloquent and persuasive, will not change it.

Propaganda and the Media
Joseph L. Galloway - McClatchy Newspapers
http://www.mcclatch ydc.com/galloway /story/37225. html

Once upon a time, it was widely believed that one of the greatest sins the U.S. government or its temporary political masters could commit was to turn a propaganda machine loose on the American people … The Bush administration has been caught violating the propaganda ban before … This is why alarm bells should be ringing all over Washington about The New York Times’ disclosure that then-Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld encouraged a secret Pentagon program to care for and spoon-feed more than 50 retired senior military officers whom the administration deemed reliable friends …

Zionism and the Third Reich
Mark Weber
http://www.ihr. org/jhr/v13/ v13n4p29_ Weber.html

A little-known chapter of history is the wide-ranging collaboration between Zionism and Hitler’s Third Reich. During the 1930s, Jewish Zionists and German National Socialists shared similar views on how to deal with the “Jewish Question.” They agreed that Jews and Germans were distinctly different nationalities, and that Jews did not belong in Germany.

Wikipedia: The Chaos Controlled
Israel Shamir
http://www.israelsh amir.net/ English/Eng37. htm

… Apparently, some of us were duped by such a ruse in the peculiar affair of a Zionist plot to infiltrate Wikipedia. This powerful online encyclopaedia is ostensibly free and open … Apparently this script has been recently enacted. Conspiracy? Yes. Jewish conspiracy? You bet! … Only a Zionist can think that Wiki “articles on key elements of the Palestine-Israel conflict have generally remained well-referenced, useful and objective.” On the contrary, they are biased in the extreme …

Israel Digs In
Taki Theodoracopulos
http://www.takimag. com/blogs/ article/israel_ digs_in

… Israel has continued its illegal expansion of Jewish settlements in Palestinian territory. Israel now controls 40 percent of the West Bank, and has a network of interconnecting roads banned to Palestinians. Which means that peace and a two-state solution is a pipe dream … Just because Jews were victims of the Germans does not give them the right to enslave, abuse, torture, evict and kill Palestinians. Victimhood, after all, only goes so far. The Israelis have played it to the hilt, and it’s now time for us in the West to say enough. But I won’t be holding my breath. AIPAC rules, Washington bows humbly.

Cornish Language Makes a Comeback
The Telegraph (Britain)
http://www.telegrap h.co.uk/news/ uknews/1997718/ Cornish-language -makes-a- comeback. html

For hundreds of years a band of scholars have fought to get the Cornish language recognised and revived in Britain, but they hit upon a major stumbling block when no-one could agree on how it should be written. Now, after more than two years of passionate negotiations, the different factions have finally streamlined the many versions of their language to create a new Standard Written Form. The resolution means the path has been cleared for Cornish to get official acceptance and funding, with support from the EU. It will be used in education, on brochures, pamphlets and on street signs.
