GREELEY, Colo. - Authorities in Colorado say a dog stood guard over its owner’s body for up to six weeks after the man committed suicide on a remote plain.

The body of 25-year-old Jake Baysinger of La Salle was found Sunday on the Pawnee National Grasslands, about 120 kilometres northeast of Denver.

Cash, his German shepherd, was found beside him, thin and dehydrated but still alive.

Officials say the dog apparently survived by eating mice and rabbits.

The Weld County coroner ruled Baysinger’s death a suicide.

The cause of death wasn’t immediately determined but authorities found a gun nearby.

Baysinger was reported missing June 28. An extensive search failed to locate him, but a rancher saw Cash last weekend, went to investigate and discovered Baysinger’s body and his pickup truck.

“At least we know it’s over now,” said Baysinger’s wife, Sara. “We’d been looking for my husband for six weeks, and this isn’t how we wanted it to end. At least we can close this.”

Cash has been reunited with her and her two-year-old son, Lane. She said her little boy is “very close to that dog” and happy to see her again.

Investigators said the dog probably kept coyotes away from the body.

Surge or Dirge? Unlike the escalation, its propaganda is working

Barack Obama is getting plenty of flak for not acknowledging that he was wrong about the “surge,” i.e. the wisdom of escalating a war we should never have started in the first place – and this is being compared to John McCain’s stubborn refusal to admit that we need to get out (although it appears McCain isn’t against timetables anymore …). In any case, the whole question of the “surge” is really just another one of those exercises in irrelevance that the American media use to fill the vast void of the cable news universe. As Obama points out, anyone could have predicted that the sudden infusion of large numbers of American troops would reduce violence, albeit temporarily. So where does that leave us?

A day in urban hell

Once I finished doing my groceries today and was about to pay for my purchases a woman came up to me to rudely point out that I was in the so-called “express” line for those with 1-8 items (while counting loudly that I had 12 items). I apologized and said nothing more, but that wasn’t enough for this cunt. She again pointed out the error of my ways, at that point I said: “do you want to sue me? I already said that I was sorry, what else do you want me to do?” She replied: “you could let me pass before you” (I was just about to pay). Finally I had enough of this shit and said: “Listen, lady, the fact that you’re not get fucked often enough is not my fault, o.k.?” That threw her off balanced a little.

I hate bitches, I especially despise working with and for women, and for a variety of reasons.

When I was in university, some guys I used to sort of hang out with thought I should run for office (God knows why). One of them was even a political hack in his former life and worked as an advisor to a politician for many years and promised to introduce me to some people who could run my campaign and so on…I didn’t have the heart to tell them that 1) I would hate campaigning; and 2) I generally hate people, and, hence, wouldn’t be very good at making all kinds of promises to make their pointless, worthless lives better.
