Ultima Thule: Julius Evola and Herman Wirth

May 22, 2008 on 5:04 pm | Friedrich Braun | History , Nordicism, Paganism | No Comments | Email This Post | Print this Post

In this short monograph, Arthur Branwen shows the influence of Herman Wirth on the thought of Julius Evola and clarifies how Evola adapted Wirth’s ideas on the origins of Western civilisation. Herman Wirth (1885‐1981) was born in Holland, becoming a German citizen in 1910. He headed up the Ahnenerbe from its founding in 1935 until 1937.

Evola himself concludes his chapter on Wirth from MS with these words:

… the period preceding liberalism and scientism was characterized by three fundamental
ideas:

1. The equality of the human race

2. Nordic barbarianism and the origin of every civilisation from the East

3. The Hebraic origin of monotheism

Wirth struck down or overthrew those ideas with these three:

1. Humanity is differentiated into distinct races

2. Civilisation did not come from the East, but from the North

3. It was the Nordics who would have known a higher monotheistic religion well before
the Hebrews

Slavic Pagans Reject Modern Society

May 20, 2008 on 9:11 pm | Friedrich Braun | Paganism | No Comments | Email This Post | Print this Post

Someone posted this as a bulletin on Myspace

A group of Russians have set up a village where they live on their
home-grown food and practice pre-Christian Slavic traditions. Their
lifestyle is just a short train ride away from Moscow.

The people in Popovka village have traded modern civilisation for
age-old traditions and the mercy of nature. They welcome the summer
with an ancient Slavic rite, and feed idols with bread, milk and oil
to ask for a plentiful harvest.

“You know, I lived in Moscow while studying at a university. I had
enough. The big metropolis destroys our communication with nature,”
says Aleksey.

The long history of Christian terror and genocide in Europe

May 10, 2008 on 11:13 pm | Friedrich Braun | Christianity , Paganism | No Comments | Email This Post | Print this Post

Under the Christian axe
The conversion of the Germanic peoples was neither easy nor peaceful. The turning point - at least as far as the continental tribes were concerned - occurred in the year AD 772 when the Frankish Emperor Charlemagne ordered the wholesale massacre of some 30,000 Saxons who refused to convert. The victory of the new faith over the old was made even more emphatic when the Irminsul, the sacred pole of the pagan Saxons (the symbolic equivalent of the Scandinavian world tree Yggdrasill), was cut down at Charlemagne’s command. As the archaeologist Marija Gimbutas has said, this act of desecration would have had the same impact as the demolishing of St Peter’s would have for Catholics.

WILIAM GAYLEY SIMPSON: On Religion

Seems like a call to Paganism for all those of Aryan blood.

WILIAM GAYLEY SIMPSON

On Religion

“For a people’s religion should come out of its
own blood. It should be its own innermost soul
made manifest, the elevation before its eyes
of its own hopes and dreams, of all the lessons
it has learned through its own immemorial
experience.”
